BATON ROUGE, LA. – Sydney Umude scored a team-high 18 points, Eddie Reese added 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block and Jayden Sadler contributed with 11 points and five helpers as the Jaguars (1-6) outscored Wiley 38-29 in the second half.
Southern shot 53 percent from the floor including 50 percent from 3-point range (8-of-16) while forcing 20 turnovers.
Joshua Hamilton led the Wildcats (6-2) with 25 points and four assists.
Cincinnati 105, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 49
CINCINNATI, OH – Six Bearcats scored in double figures led by Justin Jenifer’s 13 points and the Golden Lions shot just 30 percent on the evening at Fifth Third Arena.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff was outscored 45-11 in points off turnovers. UAPB (2-5) committed a season-high 31 turnovers while Cincinnati (6-1) committed 14.
Martaveous McKnight, already a two-time SWAC Player of the Week this season, was held to just seven points.
San Diego State 87, Jackson State 44
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Chris Howell and Jeremiah Bozeman scored nine points apiece, but the Tigers (1-6) shot just 25 percent from the field on the night at Viejas Arena.
Matt Mitchell scored 16 and Jordan Schakel had 15 points to lead the Aztecs (4-2), who shot 51 percent from the field.
