Mississippi Valley State 69, Southeastern Louisiana State 59
ITTA BENA, MS – Five Delta Devils players scored in double figures with Jordan Evans leading the way with 17 points as Mississippi Valley State led by three at halftime and held the lead throughout the second half in a home win at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex on Tuesday night.
 
Dante Scott had 14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.  Emmanuel Ejeh had 10 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, Aleksa Koracin and Tereke Eckwood had 10 points apiece for the Delta Devils (1-5). 
 
 It was the team's first win against a non-SWAC opponent since Nov. 29, 2014, when the Delta Devils defeated North Carolina A&T 66-63 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
 
It was also the team's first win over a Southland Conference opponent since Dec. 2006, when Valley defeated McNeese State 76-45 (Dec. 18) and Central Arkansas 66-51 (Dec. 20) in consecutive home games.

Jackson State 81, Chicago State 68
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – Chris Howell had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Venji Wallis added 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds and Lemmie Howard scored 16 as the Tigers (1-4) picked up their first win of the season at the Freedom Hall Civic Center.
 
The Tigers shot 52 percent (17-of-33) in the first half and went into halftime with a 42-26 lead.
JSU outrebounded CSU 43-34 and outscored the Cougars (1-7) in second-chance points 18-2. The Tigers also forced 15 turnovers, which was promptly turned into 19 points.

The Blue and White showcased its depth and outscored the Cougars 40-23 off the bench.

Grambling State 99, Champion Christian 58
GRAMBLING, LA – Dallas Polk-Hilliard registered 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds as the Tigers (2-2) shot a season-best 59 percent from the floor as a team.
 
Axel Mpoyo recorded 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal.  Ivy Smith Jr. had 12 points, six assists, five rebounds, five steals and one block.
 
Grambling State, which snapped a two-game losing streak with the victory, led 49-27 at the break and outscored Champion Christian, 50-31, in the second half.
