DALLAS, Texas – Texas Southern finished atop the standings after day two of the SWAC West Roundup, finishing with an 8-1 so far in the tournament, and knocking down 8,929 total pins through two days.
Jackson State is currently in second place, finishing with a 7-1 record so far in the event. Prairie View A&M ended the day in third place, finishing at 6-3 after two days. Alabama State is currently in fourth place with a record of 5 - 3 through two days. Southern sits in fifth (3-5), while Grambling State (1-8) and Alabama A&M (0-9) round out the standings currently in sixth and seventh place respectively.
For the individual standings, three Texas Southern bowlers occupy the top three spots in the standings. Denisyha Waller is atop the leaderboard after two days. Waller has an average of 190.88 pins per contest. Samantha Kriner is in second place with an average of 189.38 thus far in the event, while Jessyca Driver sits in third place, with an average of 188.20.
Violet Kirk of Jackson State and Alison Sledge of Alabama State round out the top five. Kirk has an average of 186.90 and Sledge has an average of 186.25.
For the top freshman, Jessyca Driver of Texas Southern claims the top spot thus far, with an average of 188.2 pins per game, in five game bowled thus far. Veronica Prior sits in second place with a 173.9 average in nine games.
