SWAC West Roundup: Day 1

DALLAS, Texas – The Southwestern Athletic Conference West Roundup got underway in Dallas on Friday, with Texas Southern and Jackson State holding the top two spots. Both went 4-0 on day one.
Texas Southern holds the edge in toal pins with 4,527 while Jackson State knocked down 4,425.
Prairie View A&M finished the opening day in third place with a 3-2 record. Southern and Alabama State each went 2-2, while Grambling State and Alabama A&M did not record a victory on the first day of completion.
Lindsay Parades of Prairie View A&M had the highest score of the day, bowling a 243 in round two. Alison Sledge of Alabama State, had the highest individual average on the day, knocking down an average of 205.33 pins per contest in two matches bowled.
Jessyca Driver of Texas Southern was second in the individual standings, with an average of 198.50 pins per contest.
Samantha Kriner of Texas Southern (198.00), Kimari Jackson of Texas Southern (197.20) and Violet Kirk of Jackson State (189.75) rounded out the top five in the individual standings after day one.
Amber Perez of Southern was the top freshman after the opening day of completion, with an average score of 185.3 per game.
The roundup will continue tomorrow with competition scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
