East Roundup Recap: Day One

D’LBERVILLE, Miss. – Day one of the Southwestern Athletic Conference women’s bowling east roundup ended with a three way tie for first place on Friday.
Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, and Jackson State all finished with a 13-3 overall record. The Panthers have the advantage in pin count (17.807), to be in first place heading into Saturday.
Texas Southern went a perfect 4-0 on the day, to draw even with Jackson State and Prairie View A&M. Southern also had a strong performance, going 3-1 to improve its overall record to 6-10 in conference play.
On the individual side, Denisyha Waller of Texas Southern currently sits in first place atop the individual standings, knocking down an average of 208.3 pins per contest. Lindsay Parades of Prairie View A&M (193.8), Marcella Sanchez of Jackson State round out the top three in the individual standings.
Morgan ranks as the top freshman bowler thus far. Samantha Kriner of Texas Southern is just behind, knocking down an average of 190.4 pins per game.
The east roundup will continue tomorrow. Action is set to get underway 10 a.m. CT.
