NEW ORLEANS – Jackson State defeated Alcorn State, 4-0, on Saturday in the 2016 SWAC Men’s Tennis Tournament at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center. The Tigers advance to face Alabama State on Sunday at 1 PM in the championship match.

In doubles action, Miguel Martin Gomez and Hernan Geria teamed up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Vasudev and Vijayarama and Nuno Rocha 6-3. At No. 3 doubles, Richie Agarwal and Federico Mendieta topped Kilian Salgado and Javon Yarbrough, 6-1.

At No. 3 singles, Gomez defeated Rocha, 6-0, 6-1 for the Tigers while Mendieta beat Yarbrough, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5 singles position. Ararwal topped Salgado, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 6 spot to clinch the victory for the Tigers.
