NEW ORLEANS – Prairie View A&M fell 4-1 to Alabama State on Saturday at the 2016 SWAC Men’s Tennis Tournament at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center. The Hornets advance to the championship match and will face Jackson State at 1 PM on Sunday.

Prairie View collected the doubles point in the match. The Panthers won at No. 1 doubles with Christian Waldron and Sergio Avella topping Patrik Cvik and Szabin Putsztay, 7-5. PVAM’s Anirudh Yadov and Ulrick Boyogueno also defeated Adam Coyne and Takura Mlamo, 7-6.

In singles action, the Hornets picked up default victory at No. 6 position before Karlo Skvorc won at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, over Yadov. Pusztay topped Freddy Quintero, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 4 singles while Cvik beat Boyogueno, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
