PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Alisa Holloway's late-match goal lifted No. 2 seed Texas Southern (11-6-1) over rival No. 7 Prairie View (3-11-1).

Holloway found the twine in the 89th minute, as the Tigers outshot PVAM 25-5 overall, and held a 17-3 advantage when it came to scoring attempts.

Early on, Texas Southern tried to press the issue against Prairie View's defense, as the Tigers outshot the Panthers 13-5 -- and 8-3 on goal. Despite the pressure, Panthers goalie Clarissa Ledesman denied each attempt until Holloway's strike. Ledesman ended up with 16 saves.

Prairie View threatened in the 42nd minute with a corner kick attempt by Courtney Aleman, but Texas Southern turned it away, resetting the table. PVAM continued to charge late as Aleman fired a shot toward the net in the final minute of the first period. Ultimately, the Panthers came away empty-handed as the half ended at nils.

Alexis Robles made three saves, and Paige Hayward led TSU with eight shots (six on goal). TSU will play Alabama State in the semifinals.
