HOUSTON - A limited amount of events took place on Saturday as the 2015 TSU Relays came to an early halt due to inclement weather.

Freshman Kaelyn Keaton participated in the 5,000-meter run and placed third (21:22.02) while Syed Hussain finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run (16:05.51).

Shaleetha Jackson finished eighth in the 200 while for the women while Sorone Batiste finished second in the 800 (1:51.47) followed by Darwin Allen's seventh-place and Fard Rollock's eighth-place finishes.

Selected members from both teams will travel to Austin March 26-28 for the Texas Relays and will also participate in the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas the same weekend.

Texas Southern’s Breana Dockery paced the Lady Tigers in the 100 meter dash finishing first with a time of 12.59.  Dockery also completed the 200 meter dash placing third out of 24 sprinters with a time of 24.98.  Tierra McGowan and Ci’Ara Meifee finished seventh and eighth respectively in the 800 meter run.

Southern’s Tylor Lighten (third place) and Grambling State’s Kameron Cowan (fourth place) also participated in the 100 meter dash.

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – Jackson State’s Tamarick Johnson finished first in the 400 Meter Dash this weekend at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays.  Johnson completed the race with a time of 48.80 on the campus of the University of Alabama.  Teammate Carson Smith went on the finish 10th in the 100 m dash with a time of 11.5.  The Alabama State men’s team competed in the 1600 Sprint Medley finishing with a time of  3:33.32.

Tatiana Etienne's first-place finish in the women's 800m highlighted an outstanding performance from  the Alabama State University.  ASU wrapped up action on the weekend with 18 top-10 finishes.

Etienne won her 800m race in an impressive time of 2:08.53 also capturing a sixth place in the 1500m run in a time of 4:35.65. Kadijah Gordon finished ninth in the triple jump event with a leap of 11.86m. Lori Davis finished fourth in the women's javelin throw recording a 40.33m mark.  Artrailia Lesane took fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase crossing the line at 10:59.16. Dikerria Wilson placed second in the 100m dash in a time of 11.97. The trio of Alexis Ferebee (54.16),Santina Williams (55.33) and Kimberly Wedderburn (56.30) finished third, ninth and tenth overall in the 400m dash.

The women's sprint medley relay team of  Jerrica Mahone, Dikerria Wilson, Kiwani Chandler, and Shantia Wilson placed fifth overall in a time of 4:03.82. The 4x100m of Gordon, Ferebee, Desiree Horn and Wilson took third overall in a time of 46.16.

The women's 4x400m relay (Williams, Ferebee, Wedderburn, Etienne) capped off the weekend with a first place finish in the event running a season's best time of 3:41.17.

For the men Ryan Hall captured a tenth place finish in the 400m finishing in a time of 49.54. Devauntay Brown placed eighth overall in the high jump with a 2.00m (6'6 3/4) mark

 The sprint medley relay of Antonio Thomas, Maurice Buchanan, Bryont Brown, Carlos Flores captured a fifth place finish in a time of 3:33.32 and the 4x200m relay (Devin O'Neal, Hall, Dequarius Smith, Justin Davis) took home a ninth place finish crossing the line in 1:26.97. The 4x100m team of Smith, O'Neal, Davis and Hall cruised to a fourth place finish in a season best time of 41.03.   

 The men ended their day with an eighth place finish in the 4x400m (O'Neal, Davis, Hall, Rannie) relay crossing the line in a seasons best time of 3:15.78.
