BATON ROUGE, La. – Jackson State moves on to the semifinals after defeating Alabama A&M 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 26-24) on Friday evening at Clifford Seymour Gym. Jackson State improves to 13-21 on the year as Alabama A&M moves to 12-25.

Taija Thomas paced the Jackson State offense with 15 kills, three digs and one block while Alexsis Ford posted 11 putaways and three digs. Mikayla Rolle tallied nine kills as Jenna Siddiqui dished out 28 assists, eight digs and five kills. Keirsten Howard had 13 assists, six digs and one kill while Tyler Moorer collected 17 digs, three assists and one service ace. Jackson swung at a .315 (48 kills, 13 errors, 111 attempts) clip.

Alabama A&M was led by Ashundria McNeal’s 12 kills and eight digs. Megan Butler dished out 21 assists and nine digs as Drea Matthews posted four kills and six digs. Savannah Blackiston collected four kills, three digs, two solo blocks and one block assist. Alabama A&M finished with a .146 (28 kills, 13 errors, 103 attempts) hitting percentage. 

Jackson State will play in the 1:00 p.m. semifinal match against the winner of Alabama State and Texas Southern in Clifford Seymour Gym.
