GARLAND, Texas - No. 4 seed Prairie View A&M University topped No. 3 seed Alcorn State, 67-59, on Thursday to advance to the 2013 Toyota SWAC Basketball Tournament semifinals.

PVAMU (14-18) will face No. 2 seed Jackson State to open the men's portion of the semifinals on Friday.

Carl Blair scored 14 points to lead a balanced effort. Montrael Scott and Jules Montgomery posted double-double performances. Scott added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Montgomery pitched in 11 points and 12 boards.

Ryan Gesiakowski also and Demondre Chapman chipped in 10 points for the Panthers.

ALCN (10-24) got 19 points from LeAntwan Luckett and 12 from Anthony Nieves but shot just 35 percent from the floor. The Braves also committed 18 turnovers. PVAMU shot 38 percent.

The Panthers took the lead for good, 31-29, on Montgomery's layup with 2:36 left in the first half and led by as many as 11 after halftime.
