BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - To close out the final week of the Southwestern Athletic Conference football season, the league has tabbed Lee Doss (Southern), Anthony Balancier (Southern), Kourtney Berry (Alabama State), and Bobby Wenzig (Alabama State) as its SWAC Football Players of the Week for December 2.
Doss earned offensive player of the week with Balancier garnering the defensive award. Berry notched newcomer of the week while Strickland was named the league's top specialist.
Offensive Player of the Week
Lee Doss
Southern

Doss posted his second game of the season with three-touchdowns reception to help guide Southern to a 40-17 win over in-state rival, Grambling State, in the 40th installment of the Bayou Classic. He finished with six receptions for 117 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Anthony Balancier
Southern
LB • SR • 6-1 • 215 • New Orleans, La.
Balancier registered nine tackles with eight solo. His effort helped Southern defeat in-state rival, Grambling State, 40-17 in the 40th Annual Bayou Classic. Balancier spotlighted a SU defense that held GSU to three points in the first half.
Newcomer of the Week
Kourtney Berry

Berry finished with eight stops (6 solo) in Alabama State's 41-28 win over Stillman. He complemented his performance with a sack, tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry. He was named the 90th Turkey Day Classic Defensive Player of the Game.
Specialist of the Week
Bobby Wenzig

Wenzig was perfect from the kicking game in Alabama State's 41-28 victory over Stillman in the 90th Annual Turkey Day Classic. He hit both of his field goal which included attempts from 19 and 26 yards. He also landed his only point-after-touchdown attempt.
