JACKSON, Miss. - Alabama A&M University moved on to its 11th SWAC Championship appearance after defeating Texas Southern in three sets on Sunday inside T.B. Ellis Gymnasium.

Leslie Ekpe fueled AAMU (11-20) with 15 kills and five digs. Kyanna Sales followed with 13 kills and Ashley Forman posted 49 assists. The Lady Bulldog’s Rebecca Cortez led the defense with 10 digs.

Veronica Azubuike finished with a double-double recording 21 kills and 10 digs. Robyn Shannon, Audriana Carson and Kali Fluke finished with double-digit figures. Shannon recorded 15 kills, Carson posted 14 and Fluke finishing with 13.

Sarah Wooten posted a team-high of 38 assists and Erin Spivey had 12 digs for the Lady Tigers.
