JACKSON, Miss. – After losing its first match Jackson State University picked up its win streak 3-1 defeating Alabama State 3-2 during the 2013 SWAC Volleyball Tournament on Sunday in T.B. Ellis Gymnasium.

JSU (11-20) picked up set scores of 22-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-22 and 15-10.

Paige Williams tallied 17 kills and Jenna Siddiqui dished out 45 assists to pace the Lady Tigers. Briana Hopkins recorded 20 digs to lead the JSU defense that totaled 10 blocks.

For ASU (23-15), Rachel Smith recorded a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs. Brooke Beasley had a team high 27 assists and Ellyn Jones trailed with 12. Myla Marshall gathered 11 kills and three digs while Luiza Griz registered 11 digs for the Lady Hornets.
