JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson State University held Grambling State to under 11 points scored in three sets to claim a 3-0 win on Thursday in T.B. Ellis Center.
JSU (6-11) hit .493 for the match and tallied nine blocks to win the sets, 25-10, 25-8, 25-9.
Christine Edwards notched 14 kills and seven digs to lead the Lady Tigers. Jenna Siddiqui guided the offense with 37 assists and Angelica Kelley finished with eight digs.
Dorothy Brown led GSU (0-8) with four kills and Breonna Loud registered four assists. Chantel McGill and Briliante Osborne finished with three digs apiece.

NORMAL, Ala. - In the only Southwestern Athletic Conference division game on Thursday, Alabama A&M University defeated in-state rival Alabama State, 3-1, inside T.M. Elmore Gymnasium.
Four players finished with double figures in kills to power AAMU (3-15, 2-0 SWAC) to set wins by the score of 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17.
Ashley Forman stretched the offense with a game high 51 assists. Bianca Richardson and Clarissa Moore fueled the Lady Bulldogs offense with 14 kills apiece. Richardson hit .571 for the match. Mariah Brown and Kyanna Sales each registered 11 kills. Rebecca Cortez finished with 13 digs to lead AAMU respectively.
ASU (1-17, 1-1 SWAC) was led by Chelsey Scott's 18 kills and .469 hitting percentage. Khryssnee Madison tacked on 16 kills and Brooke Beasley finished with 45 assists. Luiz Griz tallied 13 digs.
McNeese State 3, @Prairie View 1
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - Prairie View A&M University dropped its second match in three days to McNeese State in a 3-1 non-conference loss Thursday night in the William Nicks Building.
PVAM (5-15) committed 20 errors dropping the match in four sets by the score of 26-24, 25-18, 17-25, 25-22.
Bruna Menezes led the Lady Panthers with 17 kills hitting .341 for the match. Kelsey Espinosa dished out 35 assists to complement five digs. Danielle Sullivan posted 11 digs and Breanna McNeil added 10.
McNeese State (5-12) took the first two sets 26-24 and 25-18. However, the Lady Panthers bounced back with a 25-17 win in the third frame. Charae Caldwell and Menezes combined for six kills during the set. Espinosa picked up eight assists.
Prairie View A&M capitalized from 12 errors by the Cowgirls. However, McNeese held off a late run down the stretch by the Lady Panthers to take the fourth frame in a 25-22 victory.
For McNeese State, Rachel Cagnina tallied 15 kills and Courtni Bauer finished with 13. Whitney Ellisor racked up a game-high 20 digs. Rachel Powell paced the McNeese State offense with 30 assists and Kelly Graham dished out 17.
Texas-Pan American 3, @Texas Southern 1
HOUSTON, Texas - Texas Southern University suffered a 3-1 loss to Texas-Pan American on Thursday inside the H&PE Arena.
TSU (5-10) racked up 12 blocks but it was not enough to stop UTPA (7-10). The Lady Tigers suffered the loss in four sets, 25-22, 14-25, 17-25, 29-31.
Mona Reed and Robyn Shannon led a TSU offense that hit .090 on the night. Reed registered a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Shannon mirrored Reed posting 12 kills. Jyra Churchill added 12 assists and Erin Spivey posted a team-high 10 digs.
After claiming the first set, TSU dropped the next two frames before competing for a chance to send the match to a fifth game. The final set experienced 11 lead changes. In 'extra points' - TSU tied the score at 29 courtesy of a kill by Shannon. However, the Lady Tigers committed two costly errors including one on the next serve followed by an error on the ensuing attack to hand UTPA the win.
The Broncos' Michelle McNamee gathered 16 kills and nine digs. Diara Reynolds had 13 kills and Sarah Davis followed with 12. Nycole Masaki finished with 36 assists and Juri Franzen held a game high with 19 digs.
Arkansas-Monticello 3, @Arkansas-Pine Bluff 1
PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff competed in a close contest falling 3-1 to Arkansas-Monticello in non-conference play on Thursday inside H.O. Clemmons Arena.
The Lady Lions (3-8) fell in four sets, 20-25, 22-25, 26-24, 17-25.
For UAPB, Eleni James-Becton and Alexis Lowe registered double-doubles in digs and assists. James-Becton finished with 22 assists and 10 digs with Lowe posting 12 assists and 10 digs. Audrey Sherles led UAPB with 13 kills and Ashlie Jones tacked on 11. Brea Clayton recorded 17 digs and Alicia Campbell tallied 11.
The Cotton Blossoms (5-10) recorded 10 blocks with Victoria Bozzo leading the offense with 17 kills. Allison Beardsley had a game-high 20 digs and Amy Kleypas piled on a double-double with 19 digs to support 11 kills. Jaclyn Trinque had 13 assists.
UAPB went into the intermission trailing 2-0. In the third stanza, the Lady Lions led 20-16 before UAM used a 4-0 run to even the score at 20. UAPB outscored UAM 4-2 with a pair of kills from Sherles for match point, 24-22. A costly error by UAPB and a point by Bozzo extended the set. The Lady Lions capitalized on an error by UAM and took the set with a service ace from Destiny Gordon for the final score of the frame, 26-24.
For the fourth set, the score was tied at nine before UAM used a 12-3 run to push the lead, 21-12. UAPB scored five points down the stretch but could not rally to close the gap as the Cotton Blossoms capitalized on three errors by UAPB to take the match.
