TSU's Pearson Tosses 1-Hitter, Eliminates JSU

BATON ROUGE, La. - Texas Southern got the perfect combination of pitching and offensive output to eliminate Jackson State 11-1 on Friday at the 2012 SWAC Baseball Tournament.
TSU starter Robert Pearson held JSU to a single base hit, and the offense took advantage of 7 JSU errors to score 11 runs. The game ended in 7 innings with a 10-run rule.
Jose Flores led the TSU offense going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Lacy Jackson and Anthony Dilligard each drove in 2 runs as well.
Jackson State starter Jose Garcia was chased after 3.1 innings and giving up 7 runs, although only 5 of them were earned.
Texas Southern remains alive in the tournament and will face Prairie View A&M tonight at 6:00 p.m.
