SWAC Announces Week 9 Soccer Top Players

Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the soccer top players for
the week on Tuesday. Shatiaunna Banks of Jackson State, Carre Rodriguez of Alabama A&M, Alyssa Cobbs of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Bianca Vigliante of Mississippi Valley earned top honors this week.

Banks had a hat-trick in the Lady Tigers win over Alcorn State. Her three goals and six points led the league over the weekend.

Carre Rodriguez
Alabama A&M

Rodriguez has two goals and an assist in the Lady Bulldogs' win over Grambling. She also had an assist in the game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff giving her six points for the weekend.
Defender of the Week
Bianca Vigliante
Mississippi Valley State
JR • D/MF • 5-3 • El Paso, Texas
Vigliante was a solid part of the Devilettes defense and she was a contributor on offense as well, scoring two goals in the win over Texas Southern.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alyssa Cobbs
Arkansas-Pine Bluff
SO • GK • 5-10 • Ellenwood, Georgia
Cobbs shut down but Alabama A&M and Alabama State in wins for UAPB. She had one shutout, allowing only one goal in two games and made seven saves.
