PINE BLUFF, Ark. - In the SWAC-TV match of the night, Prairie View A&M University jumped back in the win column and to the top of the Southwestern Athletic Conference western division with a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff at H.O. Clemons Arena on Friday.
PVAM (8-18, 4-1) swept the match winning the first two frames, 25-19 and 25-17, before holding on to win the final set, 26-24.
The Lady Panthers hit .310 of their total attacks to give UAPB (4-12, 2-1) its first division loss on the season.
Breanna McNeil led PVAM on the floor with 10 kills and Kelsey Espinosa had 31 assists. Monecia Preston led all players with 11 digs.
For UAPB, Audrey Sherles tallied eight kills and Ashlie Jones posted seven. Alexis Lowe and Jordan Foyer shared the load in assists. Lowe dished out a team-high 16 and Foyer followed with 15. Brea Clayton topped the Lady Lions' defense with eight digs.

JACKSON, Miss. - Jackson State University pushed its win streak to 10 matches defeating Alabama State 3-2 on Friday at the T.B. Ellis Center.
Both teams won back-to-back sets. JSU (12-11, 2-0) picked up the first pair, 25-15 and 25-22, with ASU (4-20,1-2) recording the wins after the break, 25-18 and 25-19.
With the match tied at two games apiece, the Lady Tigers outlasted the Lady Hornets, 15-3, to claim the win.
Christine Edwards finished with a match-high 18 kills. Jasmine Knight added 11 kills and Jenna Siddiqui dished out 36 assists. Angelica Kelley posted 10 digs to lead a JSU defense that totaled 15 blocks.
ASU was led by Rachel Smith, Anniiya Robinson and Brooke Beasley. Smith triggered 16 kills and Robinson finished with a double-double, 11 kills and 10 digs. Beasley managed a match high 39 assists and Luiz Griz had 15 digs.
