SU, TSU and JSU Out Front After Round-up Day 1

BATON ROUGE - Day one of the 2012 SWAC West Bowling Round-up is in the books with each team completing their first five games at the Metro Bowl. Overall, Southern, Texas Southern and Jackson State each won four of their five games. Alabama A&M was 3-2, while Alabama State and Prairie View were both 2-3. Grambling State was able to grab one win, while Mississippi Valley State finished the day 0-5.
Jelesa Maryland of Texas Southern had the top individual performance of the day, rolling a 208 average over four games. She also had the high game of the day with a 268 in the Tigers' win over Grambling.
Danielle Walker of Alabama State also averaged over 200 in her five games. She was the only bowler to top over 1,000 pins, finishing the day with 1,012 and an average of 202. She had the second best game on Day one, a 233 in a win over Grambling.
The high team performance of the day went to Texas Southern. The Tigers dropped 4,441 pins for an average of 177.6.
