PVAM Upsets Defending Champ Jackson State

ALEXANDRIA, LA - Prairie View A&M pulled the first upset of the 2011 SWAC Soccer tournament, knocking off defending champion and East Division top seed Jackson State 2-1 in overtime. The Lady Panthers (4-16-1) will advance to the semifinals while JSU ended their season at 7-9-1,
PVAM had to come from behind after surrendering a first half goal. Tiger forward Liana Knight scored an unassisted goal in the 39th (38:09) minute.
The score remained 1-0 until late in the second half when midfielder Yosselyn Aguilar took a bouncing pass from Reina Mata and headed the ball into the goal, tying the game at 1-1.
In overtime, Aguilar struck again, scoring the game-winner off of an assist from Nauhacali Romo-Lara in the 100th minute (99:27).
