Young, Roynell Young, Willie Younger, Paul " Tank" Herman Sanders Class Induction 2012 Sport(s) Men's Track & Field Mississippi Valley State Herman Sanders was an exceptional track & field athlete at Mississippi Valley State University, where he earned three-time All-SWAC honors in the 400-meter and 800-meter events, and helped his team capture back-to-back NAIA national championships in 1980 and 1981. His versatile athleticism and leadership distinguish him among the conference’s greats. In recognition of his outstanding collegiate achievements and lasting impact on SWAC athletics, Sanders was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2012.
