Early Life & College
  • Osborne played at Southern University from 1968-1971, where he was a dominant defensive tackle.
  • He was team captain in his senior season.
  • While at Southern, he competed alongside future NFL stars in the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Professional Career
  • Osborne was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 7th round of the 1972 NFL Draft (182nd overall).  
  • He played his entire NFL career with the Bears, lasting 13 years.
  • He recorded 81 sacks and 9 fumble recoveries in his career.  
  • He won the Brian Piccolo Award in his rookie year — an honor given to a Bears player who best exemplifies courage, loyalty, teamwork, and dedication.
