  • Reggie Barlow, born on January 22, 1972, in Montgomery, Alabama, is a celebrated former player and coach who made a lasting impact on SWAC football.
  • A standout wide receiver at Alabama State University, Barlow set school records with 133 receptions, 2,536 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns, including a remarkable senior season in 1994 with 1,267 receiving yards.
  • His collegiate success led to a professional career in the NFL, where he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Oakland Raiders, excelling as a dynamic return specialist and leading the league in punt return yards in 1998.
  • After his playing days, Barlow returned to Alabama State as head coach (2007–2014), helping to develop future SWAC talent.
  • In recognition of his excellence both on and off the field, he was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2013, cementing his legacy as one of the conference’s most accomplished athletes and leaders.
