She attended Prairie View A&M University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration (1991) and a master’s degree in health (1998). As a student-athlete, she played volleyball for the Lady Panthers from approximately 1987-1991, earning All-SWAC honors and being selected to the SWAC All-Tournament team in 1989 and 1990. Athletic Career & Coaching After graduation, she returned to PVAMU in 1997 as the head coach of the first Lady Panther Bowling team. In 1999, she became Head Volleyball Coach at PVAMU. Under her leadership: The Lady Panthers won the SWAC Championship in 1999 (her first year) and made their first NCAA tournament appearance in program history. They won another SWAC Championship in 2006 and earned a second NCAA tournament appearance. For her success as coach, she was named SWAC Coach of the Year for each of those championship seasons.
