  • Willie Richardson was a standout wide receiver at Jackson State University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where he earned All-SWAC and All-American honors and became one of the most dominant receivers in HBCU football during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
  • His exceptional collegiate play led to an NFL career with the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins, highlighted by two Pro Bowl selections and recognition as the Colts’ Most Valuable Player in 1967.
  • In honor of his outstanding achievements and lasting impact on SWAC football, Willie Richardson was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame.
