  • Major League Career
    • Agee made his MLB debut on September 14, 1962, with Cleveland.
    • His breakout season came in 1966 with the Chicago White Sox: he hit .273, smacked 22 home runs, stole 44 bases, and was awarded American League Rookie of the Year, a Gold Glove, and made the All-Star team.
    • In December 1967 he was traded to the New York Mets.
    • In 1969 — the famed “Miracle Mets” year — Agee was a key contributor: he hit 26 home runs, scored 97 runs, drove in 76, and made two spectacular catches in Game 3 of the World Series that are often cited among the greatest defensive plays in World Series history.
    • He also hit a monumental home run on April 10, 1969, at Shea Stadium that was notable for its distance and landing in the upper deck.
    • His career concluded in 1973 (with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals).
