  • He was born May 25, 1919, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Attended Southern University (Baton Rouge) and earned a B.S. in Health & Physical Education, then a M.S. at the same institution.
  • He served in the U.S. Army prior to completing his educational career.
  • At Southern University, he coached for many years (including football) and then became the first full-time Director of Intramural Sports, a role he held for 16 years until his retirement in 1986.
  • He also coached high school football (Scotlandville, Capitol, Lincoln High Schools in Baton Rouge) prior to or alongside his university role.
