Young, Roynell Young, Willie Younger, Paul " Tank" Kenneth Burrough Class Induction 1997 Sport(s) Football Texas Southern Ken Burrough was an exceptional athlete at Texas Southern University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), excelling in both football and track from 1967 to 1969. In football, he recorded 138 receptions for 1,912 yards and 19 touchdowns and helped lead TSU to a SWAC co-championship in 1968. After college, Burrough was selected 10th overall in the 1970 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints and traded to the Houston Oilers, where he starred from 1971 to 1981. He earned two Pro Bowl selections in 1975 and 1977, led all NFL receivers with 1,063 yards in 1975, and became one of the few players to wear the number “00.” In recognition of his outstanding collegiate and professional achievements, Burrough was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 1997, cementing his legacy as one of the conference’s all-time greats.
