  • William “Rock” Glosson was a standout student athlete, coach, and administrator at Texas Southern University whose contributions left a lasting mark on Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) athletics.
  • As a football player in the late 1950s, he earned All-SWAC honors from 1956 to 1958 and All-America recognition in 1957 and 1958, highlighted by a game in 1958 where he recorded 22 catches for 270 yards.
  • After his playing career, Glosson served TSU as a football coach, athletic director, and golf coach, earning SWAC Coach of the Year honors multiple times in the 1970s.
  • In recognition of his multifaceted excellence and enduring impact on TSU athletics, he was inducted into the TSU Hall of Fame in 1977
