Young, Roynell Young, Willie Younger, Paul " Tank" Carl Williams Class Induction 2008 Sport(s) Athletic Trainer Southern Carl “Doc” Williams served as Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer at Southern University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) for over 40 years (1963–2003), during which time he worked with numerous coaches and student-athletes and helped establish the university’s athletic training excellence. His distinguished career in athletic training and long-term service to SWAC athletics were honored when Williams was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2008.
