  • Jimmie Giles was a standout tight end at Alcorn State University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), earning All SWAC honors in 1975 and 1976.
  • His exceptional collegiate performance led to his selection in the third round (70th overall) of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers, where he enjoyed a 13season professional career that included four Pro Bowl selections and 350 receptions for 5,084 yards and 41 touchdowns.
  • In recognition of his outstanding contributions to SWAC athletics and his success at the professional level, Giles was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2008, solidifying his legacy as one of the conference’s all-time greats.
