William Brown was a highly respected track and field coach at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) who made a lasting impact on the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
He served at MVSU from 1968 to 1997 and guided the Delta Devils to back-to-back NAIA outdoor track national championships in 1980 and 1981—the university’s first ever national titles.
In recognition of his decades of service and success, Brown was posthumously inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017.
