  • John Stallworth was a standout wide receiver at Alabama A&M University (a member institution of the SWAC), where he distinguished himself on the field before being selected in the fourth round of the 1974 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Over his 14-season NFL career, Stallworth won four Super Bowl championships, earned three Pro Bowl selections and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
  • His exceptional collegiate and professional accomplishments and his lasting impact on SWAC and HBCU football were further recognized when he was honored as part of the SWAC’s distinguished “Legends” class.
