  • L.C. Greenwood was a standout defensive end at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (then Arkansas AM&N) in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), earning Ebony All-American honors in 1968.
  • After college, he was drafted in the tenth round of the 1969 NFL Draft and went on to a remarkable career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, earning six Pro Bowl selections and winning four Super Bowl championships as a key member of the legendary “Steel Curtain” defense.
  • In recognition of his collegiate achievements and lasting influence on SWAC athletics, Greenwood was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2004.
