  • Jerry Rice was a legendary wide receiver at Mississippi Valley State University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where he rewrote the NCAA record books from 1981 to 1984.
  • While playing in MVSU’s famed “Satellite Express” offense, Rice set 18 NCAA records—including career marks for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches—and earned All-SWAC and All-American honors.
  • His spectacular college career led to his selection in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft, where he went on to become the most accomplished wide receiver in NFL history with 13 Pro Bowl selections, three Super Bowl titles, and numerous all-time records.
  • In recognition of his extraordinary collegiate achievements and lasting impact on SWAC football, Jerry Rice was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame.
