  • Everson Walls was a standout defensive back at Grambling State University, a member of the SWAC, where he earned Kodak I-AA All-American honors and led the nation in interceptions during his senior year.
  • He went on to a stellar professional career in the NFL, recording 57 career interceptions, leading the league three times (1981, 1982, 1985), earning four Pro Bowl selections and winning a Super Bowl with the New York Giants.
  • In recognition of his extraordinary collegiate achievements and lasting impact on SWAC football, Walls was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2006.
