  • Lewis Tillman was a standout running back at Jackson State University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where he became a three-time All-SWAC performer, was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Year in 1987, and broke his school’s career rushing record with 3,989 yards.
  • His physical style and consistency helped him earn national recognition as a Kodak and Walter Camp All-American.
  • Following college, he played in the NFL for the New York Giants and Chicago Bears.
  • In acknowledgment of his excellent collegiate achievements and lasting impact on SWAC football, Tillman was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2011.
