GULFPORT, Miss.- The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers defeated the Southern Jaguars in an elimination game on Wednesday at the Gulfport Sportsplex winning by a score of 8-1.
 
PVAMU’s Cailin Massey went the distance for the Lady Panthers pitching seven innings while allowing only three hits and no earned runs.
 
Southern’s Aaliyah Zabala was saddled with the loss after pitching 1.2 innings for the Jaguars.
 
Kayla Zaid led the Lady Panthers with two RBI and one hit. Mia Nunez, Reagan Green, Aerin Talley and Michelle Meeks each contributed an RBI for the Lady Panthers.
 
Prairie View A&M moves on to face Bethune-Cookman in an elimination game on Thursday.
