SWAC Softball Final Score: Bethune-Cookman 3, Prairie View A&M 0

GULFPORT, Miss.-The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats claimed a 3-0 shutout win over Prairie View A&M on Tuesday to open SWAC Softball Tournament play in spectacular fashion.

Shania Owens contributed two RBI while fellow teammate Kendall Macauley drove in the other B-CU run. Alyssa Lopez pitched 6.2 innings allowing only five hits and no runs to get the win for Bethune-Cookman.

Halyne Gonzalez picked up the last out for the Wildcats in the bottom of the seventh inning. Prairie View A&M’s Brielle Moreno was credited with the loss.

The Wildcats advance to face Jackson State tomorrow at 6:00 pm CST.
