SWAC Baseball Final Score: Southern 17, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 11

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Southern’s Taj Bates and Kameron Byrd drove in four runs each while pacing the Jaguars scoring attack in a 17-11 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday at Rickwood Field in an elimination game.
 
UAPB took a 7-0 advantage after the first two innings of play before Southern chipped away at the Golden Lions lead tying the game in the top half of the fourth inning.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Cole Kenyon was tagged with the loss as he pitched 2.0 innings while allowing five hits and an earned run. Southern’s Renard Grace picked up the win allowing six hits and three earned runs.
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Jesus Riera drove in a game high five runs for the Golden Lions. As a team Southern collected 18 hits during the game while UAPB tallied eight hits.
