BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Bethune-Cookman’s Andrey Martinez and Edwin Sanchez, Florida A&M’s Broedy Poppell and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Kenney Fabian its Baseball Players of the Week for their outstanding performances this past week.

Co-Hitter of the Week
Martinez led the way at the plate as the Wildcats took both games over Grambling State on the road. In two games he finished 4-9 with six RBI, three runs, and a pair of homers in Saturday's game. He also scored three runs.
 
Co-Hitter of the Week
Poppell tallied seven hits and five RBIs for Florida A&M this past week to help lead the Rattlers at the plate versus Texas Southern.
 
Co-Pitcher/ Newcomer of the Week
Fabian was impressive on the mound while tossing a complete game shutout. The right-hander gave up just six hits, struck out five and didn't walk a single batter in a nine-inning gem versus Jackson State.
 
Co-Pitcher/ Newcomer of the Week
Sanchez fired five scoreless innings against Grambling State in which he scattered six hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks allowed. It is his second double-digits strikeout game of the season.
