SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors: Aug. 27

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Southern’s Giftee Tor, Grambling State’s Adrianna Pratt and Texas Southern’s Alessandra Bastidas for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
 
Offensive
Tor scored a goal for the Southern Jaguars versus Houston Christian University. The Jaguars dropped a hard fought contest by a score of 2-1 with Tor making an impact offensively for Southern.
 
Defensive
Pratt helped the Tigers to a 0-1-1 record during the second week of regular season play. She led a GSU defense that allowed an average of three goals in two games.
 
Goalkeeper
Bastidas had an impressive week for the Tigers while surrendering only two goals versus North Texas during the second week of the season. She made a total of eleven saves during the contest.

Women’s competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
