SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors: Oct. 1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Grambling State’s Jayla Gage, Ronya Halleen and Madison Covey-Taylor for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
 
Offensive

Gage had two game-winning goals this past week against Alabama A&M and Alabama State. Her impressive performances helped GSU go undefeated in league play this past week of competition.
 
Defensive
Halleen had strong backline performances versus Alabama A&M and Alabama State. She was pivotal in Grambling's first two shutout victories in SWAC play. She also had the game-winning assist to Gage during GSU’s win over Alabama State.

Goalkeeper
Covey-Taylor excelled in goal, playing 180 minutes of shutout soccer and recording nine saves over the weekend.
